DPF filter and catalytic converter repairs

The DPF (diesel particulate filter) and catalytic converter are key components of the exhaust system that reduce harmful gas emissions and ensure a lower environmental impact of your vehicle. Over time, they can become clogged up or damaged through normal use, leading to poor engine performance, increased fuel consumption and even breakdowns. Our company offers professional disassembly/assembly, repair, regeneration and restoration of DPF filters and catalytic converters, thereby extending their lifespan and reducing replacement costs.

When is a repair necessary?

If you notice any of the warning signs below, it is time for an inspection and likely repair:

Reduced engine power

A clogged up filter or damaged catalytic converter is restricting the flow of exhaust gases.

Increased fuel consumption

Reduced air flow means greater engine load and higher fuel consumption.

Engine warning light

Reduced air flow means greater engine load and higher fuel consumption.

Peculiar odours from the tail pipe

They may indicate a catalytic converter failure or a clogged DPF filter.

Thick (black) smoke from the exhaust

It means that the filter is not working properly and is not retaining soot particles.

DPF filter and catalytic converter repair process

Diagnostics and inspection:

First, we perform a thorough diagnostic scan to check the condition of the DPF filter and catalytic converter and determine the cause of the problems. We check for blockages, damage to the ceramic core, seals and sensors.

Removing the DPF filter from your vehicle:

After a diagnostic check has been performed and a problem with the DPF filter or catalytic converter has been confirmed, the defective part is removed from the vehicle. Each DPF filter removal and installation procedure requires prior consultation with our vehicle technicians, as it is not possible to remove every DPF filter at our service shop due to the complexity of new vehicles.

Cleaning and regeneration of the DPF filter:

If the filter is clogged up, we perform a professional cleaning service using the “eco wash cleaning” method, which ensures up to 100% removal of soot and ash. This method does not damage the filter structure and allows you to restore the filter to factory condition.

Repair or replacement of damaged catalytic converter parts

When inspecting the catalytic converter, we check the condition of the ceramic insert. If the catalytic converter has any mechanical damage, we can replace the damaged parts only, which is significantly cheaper than buying a new catalytic converter.

Final installation and testing:

After cleaning or repair, we install the filter and catalytic converter back into the vehicle, perform a flow test and check the functioning of the components using a diagnostic scan.

Why choose repairs over replacement?

pika Big savings – repairing and cleaning are significantly cheaper than buying a new filter or catalytic converter.

pika An environmentally friendly solution – by refurbishing the components, we reduce waste and extend the service life of filters.

pika Preserving original components – with proper restoration, we ensure that your system will function as efficiently as a brand new one.
