Ceramic cores

of DPF (FAP) filters and catalytic converters

Purpose and role

Ceramic cores of DPF (FAP) filters and catalytic converters are an integral part of a DPF filter or a catalytic converter. They are used to replace the original part in case of damage. This way, you can ensure that your DPF filter or catalytic converter will work again at a lower cost. The biggest advantage of such cores is the ability to repair a damaged piece even when you cannot find a replacement DPF filter on the market. Thus, ceramic cores are considered a highly sought-after and valued product on the market.

Types of ceramic cores

Ceramic DPF filter cores are grouped according to material:

pika SiC – Silicon carbide
pika Cor – Cordierite

They differ in their structure and, consequently, in their resistance to temperature and loads.

They are also further divided into:

pika Universal ceramic cores: They are intended for a wider range of vehicles. It is important to pay attention to the dimensions of the ceramic core, which must match the original.

pika Direct-fit ceramic cores: They are intended for a specific type of vehicle. In addition to dimensions, the coating of precious metals on the ceramic core is also important. These ceramic cores are prepared based on a special laboratory analysis of the original component.
