Cleaning of DPF filters and catalytic converters

Our company provides a comprehensive service for cleaning DPF filters and catalytic converters for both passenger cars and goods vehicles, which is crucial for the optimal operation of your exhaust system and the reduction of harmful emissions. Our process is based on precise diagnostics, high-pressure washing without the use of harmful chemicals and regeneration, which extends the life of filter components.

Clogging problems and causes

Clogging of the DPF filter can be caused by:

Unsuitable engine oil

Engine oils with high sulphur content can make regeneration difficult.

EGR valve or turbocharger failure

It causes improper combustion and increased engine smoke.

Damaged pressure sensor tubes

Incorrect pressure data can interfere with regeneration.

Urban driving

Frequent driving over short distances at low revs prevents optimal regeneration and causes the filter to clog up.

Solutions and recommendations

Our company offers:

pika Diagnostics and consulting – Identifying the causes of problems and providing expert advice.

pika Cleaning and regeneration – Effective cleaning without the use of harmful chemicals.

pika Installation and replacement of DPF filters – Original and universal filters for various vehicles.

The purpose and benefits

pika Improved engine efficiency: – Regular cleaning prevents soot build-up, thereby maintaining optimal exhaust gas flow and improving engine performance.

pika Emission reduction: – A clean DPF filter and catalytic converter contribute to lower emissions of harmful substances, thus protecting the environment.

pika Extended lifespan: – Timely maintenance reduces replacement and repair costs by preventing more serious damage to filter elements.

Cleaning process

Diagnostics and measuring:

First, we perform a precise diagnostic check, during which we measure the flow rate of the DPF filter or catalytic converter. This allows us to assess the degree of clogging and determine the extent of cleaning required.

Removing and preparing the DPF filter/catalytic converter:

The filter is safely removed from the exhaust system, allowing thorough access to all parts of the filter without the risk of damage.

Inspecting the DPF filter/catalytic converter:

An additional check of the DPF filter includes an inspection of the ceramic core of the DPF filter and taking a flow measurement. In case of suspected damage, an X-ray inspection of the DPF filter is also performed.

Cleaning using the EWC or thermal method:

Using advanced technology, we remove soot deposits and other dirt that have accumulated in the filter. Both methods are effective and completely environmentally friendly, as they do not require aggressive chemical cleaners.

Reinspecting the DPF filter/catalytic converter:

This is followed by an additional inspection and measuring the flow after cleaning.

Reinstallation and testing:

When the results are satisfactory, the filter is safely reinstalled into the exhaust system. After installation, we perform a final diagnostic check to verify the proper functioning of the entire system.

When is cleaning necessary?

If you notice:

» Reduced engine power and increased fuel consumption.
» Warning light on the dashboard.
» Unusual sound or vibration coming from the exhaust system.
» Visible accumulation of soot or other type of clogging.
